NOTE PANTHEON INFLUENCES IN THIS SECTION: ASTAROTH
Primordial Power of ancient Shimring Temples has effect on play as follows:
CHAOS EFFECT MAY VARY ON ASTAROTH, SAVANDEM and GRNEEKLE!
EFFECTS ON ASTAROTH:
GENERAL SHIMRING EFFECTS (Except on Horus):
LEARNING DIVINE SPELLS: Spells are gained from Deity through Droomalith. All normal except LAW/CHAOS/GOOD/EVIL descriptor spells cannot be learned. Cleric is aware of this and can choose other spells to fill the slots.
DESCRIPTOR ABILITIES: Similarly, Character Abilities that rely on Descriptors (e.g. v EVIL/GOOD/LAW/CHAOS) do not function on Shimring! (This can be overcome by a successful DI roll made as a free action before the PP Effect Roll.)
DESCRIPTOR ITEMS: Items are not affected and function normally.
Spells and Character Class abilities fail on a roll of 9 or 10. If 10 is rolled, group will encounter Entropic Enemy. Entropic Enemies encountered should start small but gradually increase in potency.
THERE ARE NO PRIMORDIAL POWER RESTRICTIONS ON HORUS!
Chaotic Residual in Temples Astaroth, Savandem and Grneekle
It is rumoured that Shimring was the birthplace of Tharizdun, known by others as Cthulhu or the Great Eldar. At that time Shimring was not an island on the Planet of Droomalithia but a small demi-plane unto itself where all living beings were created. In the time before the New Gods appeared, Four Temples were built by the inahabitants of that land as Slaves to Tharizdun, and he vested much of his Chaotic Energy into their construction.
After the Droomalith gathered the Gods together to imprison Tharizdun and create the World of Droomalithia, he vested his own power and that of the Dracolich on Horus and cleansed it of its Chaotic power. However, in creating the Heart of the Dracolich and using the three other temples as Conduits, much of this Chaotic energy was utilised but some of it was corrupted and remains as residual energy that sometimes erupts in spurts of Chaotic Power. This is not directly controlled by Tharizdun but, true to his spirit, the creatures that escape from these demiplanar bubbles are entirely destructive and chaotic and will always attack and destroy any life form.
